The fishing on Kerr Lake is fantastic right now. Bass are feeding heavily and are staged on points. The fish are in three to seven feet of water. Crankbaits and Rattle Traps are producing well. If the weather is mild, sunny, and calm the fish will move into shallow coves in the afternoon. Spinnerbaits and the Speed Shad work best in the coves. A medium retrieve with a stop and go cadence will best. I have heard reports of fish biting a Carolina Rig tipped with a six inch green pumpkin Zoom Lizard. I have been catching between 20 to 30 bass a day on a DJ2 Crawdad color crankbait.
