Jan 17 - 19 -- 13th Annual Cheeca Lodge Presidential Sailfish Tournament.   Mercury Marine is a long-time major sponsor of this popular offshore event, which is the only tournament of its kind with an outboard division. It's also one of the most competitive divisions with the outboard powered boats vying to beat the big inboard boats for the biggest release sailfish. Entry fee is $410 for the first team member and $385 for each additional angler. February 15 - 18 -- Mercury Outboards Redbone @Large Deep Water Cay, Grand Bahamas. This event, held on a remote private island, is limited to just 22 anglers teamed on 11 boats at the oldest and, what many call, the most exclusive bone fishing destination in the world. It's one of the Redbone's most unique locations in this fundraiser for cystic fibrosis research in the growing Mercury Redbone @ Large series. March 8 - 10 -- Mercury Outboards presents Ladies Let's Go Fishing in Ft. Lauderdale.  This popular and fun two days of hands-on seminars are designed to teach women fishing techniques, conservation and safety in a non-intimidating atmosphere.  For more information please call 954-475-9068.

 

March 22 -24 -- Second Annual Mercury Outboards Redbone@ Large Island Walk and Celebrity Sunset Tarpon Tournament.  Marathon is the site for this Fla. Keys event featuring a Saturday morning walk on a portion of the old seven-mile bridge to Pigeon Key and an evening of fishing and dinner.  Fishing resumes on Sunday with an awards banquet to cap off the weekend.  Astronaut Bruce Melnick won the tournament's celebrity division title last year and is expected back to defend it in this fundraiser for cystic fibrosis research. April 12 -14 -- Second Annual Mercury Outboards @ Redbone Large Mosquito Lagoon, Canaveral Seacoast National Park. This Mercury Redbone @ Large event is part of a growing extension of the popular series of Mercury Redbone tournaments in the Florida Keys, targeting reds and trout along east-central Florida's beautiful inshore coastline near New Smyrna Beach, Fla. Last year's celebrities included NBA's Brian Hill, NFL's Steve Towle, MLB's Davey Johnson and Mike Stanley and Hall of Famers Jack Youngblood (NFL) and Denis Potvin (NHL).
