                             Participants Use New Saltwater Directions*

Charts To Make The Grade

August 2003 - RECON Maps & Charts sponsored
its first "Flats Class", taught by Captains and Pros C.A. Richardson, Bryan
Watts, Greg Watts, Ray Van Horn, Blair Wiggins and others on August 3
(Titusville, FL - Mosquito Lagoon). The Flats Class curriculum includes a
comprehensive power point-driven classroom session demonstrating skills,
tools, and scenarios needed to fish the flats successfully with artificial
lures and live bait. Students participate interactively with instructors on
such topics as knot tying, casting, rigging, record keeping,
catching/finding live bait, plus lure selection and presentation. There is
additional class time dedicated to focus species such as: Tarpon the Silver
King, Redfish the Copper Mine of the Shallows, Snook the Lord of the
Mangroves, and Trout the Prince of Grass. While the class teaches some
fundamentals, the primary focus is centered on advanced techniques for flats
fishing. For more information on the Flats Class, please visit

The new Saltwater Directions* fishing charts
were provided by RMC and used by students and instructors to isolate
productive fishing water, locating underwater structure, and plan strategy.
The charts were also used in conjunction with GPS units to plot routes,
tracks and waypoints.

The detailed Saltwater Directions* fishing
charts include depth contours, access sites and services plus fishing tips,
techniques and much more are all on these 24" X 36", waterproof,
tear-resistant charts which fold to a convenient 6 x 9-inch size.  Detailed
fishing seasonality charts identify the best times to fish for your favorite
species. You'll even find catch and release and boating safety tips, useful
knots along with fish species identification, complete with full color
pictures.  Each chart is digitally assembled to ensure accuracy and
readability.  These are the most up-to-date charts available.

RECON Maps & Charts has been making fishing
charts/maps since 1975.  Today, the company offers more than 600 maps/charts
in 41 states and Canada and Mexico.  Many are also available for use in GPS
units via Navionics HotMaps*, soon for C-Map cartridges and directly from
Garmin through their MapSource* software and data cards. The new SWD charts
are available at local tackle shops and sporting goods dealers, with a
toll-free call to 1-800-500-MAPS, or a visit to www.saltwaterdirections.com
