Field & Stream names MotorGuide Wireless trolling motors "Best of
the Best"
TULSA, Okla. (Aug. 23, 2006) The Wireless Advantage has become the
best.
MotorGuide's Digital Wireless Series Remote-Operated trolling motors
were
named the marine industry's top trolling motor of 2006 in Field &
Stream
magazine's ninth annual "Best of the Best" awards.
Field & Stream each year tests hundreds of outdoor products,
awarding top-
performing items the title of "Best of the Best." Forty-three
hunting,
fishing
and outdoor products made the cut this year, selected by an
11-person panel
of gear fanatics and expert sportsmen. All winning products share
one
quality: excellence in their field. Products are featured in the
September
issue
of Field & Stream.
"Innovation is alive and well in the hunting and fishing industry
and the
Field
& Stream Best of the Best Awards identifies and details the best new
equipment on the market," said Jay Cassell, deputy editor at Field &
Stream. "It's a wish list for sportsmen, with 43 quality products
you can
count on in the field."
It takes a special breed of product to make the Best of the Best
list.
Winning
items were ultimately selected based on significance of the
innovation, the
quality of the design, and the value they bring to hunters and
fishermen.
MotorGuide Wireless trolling motors have experienced phenomenal
success
since their introduction last fall. Demand for the engines has been
high,
and
with good reason: they provide simple, fast and precise wireless
boat
positioning from anywhere on deck with a low-profile foot pedal. And
since
these motors are designed especially with big waters in mind, they
are
built
to take the poundings of fishing in rough, open water, with much of
the
credit
for durability going to the company's exclusive Digital know-how and
the
incredible new Cradle LockTM Mount, patent-pending.
There are three models in the Wireless Series: the W45, at 12-volts
and 45
pounds of thrust; the W55, at 12-volts and 55 pounds of thrust; and
the
W75, at 24-volts and 75 pounds of thrust. All are variable speed
models and
all come in 48-inch and 54-inch shaft lengths. The W55 and W75 are
also
available with a 60-inch shaft.
MotorGuide plans to introduce "Sonar Ready" Wireless Series motors,
featuring built-in transducers that work with most leading brands of
sonar,
in
2007.
