OVERVIEW OF CITGO HORIZON AWARD FOR THE 2003 CITGO BASSMASTER TOUR


MONTGOMERY, Ala. (Jan. 28, 2003) -- CITGO Petroleum Company, the title sponsor of the CITGO Bassmaster Tournament Trail presented by Busch Beer, together with BASS, recently unveiled the CITGO Horizon Award, which will recognize the most improved Tour competitor based on the previous year's Busch BASS Angler of the Year point standings.

Below is an overview of the award as well as the current CITGO Horizon Award standings after this season's first two events. 

Overview
Final standings from the 2002 CITGO Bassmaster Tour will be used to chart a starting position for anglers in this program and the standings following the final Tour event in 2003 will be used to determine the winner. The winner will be the angler who has improved the most number of places.

Eligibility:
* The program is open to any CITGO Bassmaster Tour angler who competed in five of the six events in 2002 and completes at least six Tour events in the 2003 season.

Award Point Basis:
* Busch BASS Angler of the Year point system will be used to measure results.

Focus of Award:
* Reward the Tour competitor who most improves their tournament results. 

Prize:
* $25,000
* Presented at the 2003 CITGO Bassmasters Classic in New Orleans
