Mercury Racing and Poker Runs America Magazine are hosting a "Power
Pilgrimage" to Mercury Racing's Fond du Lac world headquarters in advance
of the August 8-10 Milwaukee Offshore Race Week Poker Run and national
offshore powerboat race. The event is a thank you to boaters who use

Mercury engines, drives, propellers, and accessories and is a fundraiser
for the Fond du Lac United Way and local area service clubs. "This is an
opportunity for our customers to see the birthplace of high performance
boat power and meet the people behind more race wins and speed records than
any other marine manufacturer.  For the public, it's a chance to meet a
number of record holders." Tony Esposito, Director of Marketing and Sales
for Mercury Racing, said.
An "Open Power House" kicks things off Thursday, providing poker
runners and racers guided tours of the Mercury Racing facility; seminars on
propellers and engine/drive maintenance; and a chance to meet the people
responsible for producing the engines, drives and propellers behind more

any other manufacturer in the history of boating.

opportunity for the public to see the boats and support vehicles up close
and meet the drivers. A number of boat companies including Baja, Cigarette,
Formula, and Fountain will be on hand with factory personnel, clothing and
a silent auction for the Fond du Lac United Way will give the public an
opportunity to bid on an assortment of nautical-themed items including
clothing and boating accessories.
The public will also have an opportunity to vote for their favorite
poker run and race boats in various categories. "This will be a spectacular
display for the public in Fond du Lac," said Esposito. "Boating enthusiasts
will have the chance to see nearly one-half million horsepower of offshore
powerboats up-close, meet the teams that operate them and win boating
apparel and merchandise." The legendary Mercury Racing offshore race
